This robot is a premium model from iRobot and performs extremely well. It can move easily across different surfaces and is very effective at taking dust, dirt and debris up. It's also very well-built and looks pretty good too.
The S9 is iRobot’s latest premium S Series robot vacuum. It boasts a few extra features that make it distinct from other models. The iRobot App can use, for instance, the camera to create maps that allows the unit to navigate and clean effectively.
There's no need to spend time cleaning the same spots again when the battery is exhausted. You can manually start and stop cleaning by the voice command or via the iRobot App. This smart vacuum can even clean in the dark!
Another excellent feature is Carpet Boost, which gives the S9 additional suction power when it encounters carpeting so it can suck up even more dirt and debris. The unit also has the square front design, which gets closer to corners and walls than older round designs. This model does not work well with high-pile or shag carpeting.
In our tests, we found that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a variety of floor surfaces, from carpets with medium to hard piles and rugs. It also performed well with laminate flooring, and vinyl flooring. It did a good job of navigating furniture and other objects, but it had issues with stairs where it might accidentally hit bookcases.
We were impressed by the feature that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its trash bin when it's full, which greatly reduces hands-on maintenance needs. The dust bin should last about 30 loads, or about two months and you'll need to replace the filter once every few months (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very loud when it's in use making it a great choice for families with pets or children.
Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid
Created to take one of the most difficult tasks off your hands, robotic vacuum cleaners do all the work of keeping hardwood and carpeted floors free of everyday debris. The best ones can be monitored and controlled via an app on your smartphone and some include mopping tech for bathroom and kitchen floors. They are a great option for busy families and they are becoming more affordable. But if you want top-tech features in your robotic cleaner, you'll be spending a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is an excellent choice for those living in a multi-floored home. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold plenty of pet hair. Dual motors give powerful cleaning power. The dust bin is easy to remove and emptied which is great as you'll be required to do this frequently.
It's also simple to set up, but I would recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. You'll need to install the Eufy Home app and follow the instructions for connecting it to your Wi-Fi network. Once you've done this the app will assist you create an accurate map of your home. You can label the rooms, split rooms into sub-rooms in order to facilitate open-plan living, and direct the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas that need to be cleaned at a particular time. Other robots also have similar scanning and mapping functions, but Eufy's app is more refined and intuitive than the other.
A great feature on the X8 Hybrid is that you can control the mop or vacuum with your voice thanks to integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot hands-free. It was very effective in our test house.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with floors that are not clean. It may miss fur and other small objects, and is known to knock things, such as its charger on the charging platform. It's also not as quiet, and the whirring sound could be distracting like other models.
Roborock V3S pro
This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we've tested but it does come with the essentials. It has a huge dust bin which can hold a lot of dirt before needing to be emptied. The vacuum and mop system is great for hard floors and carpets with a low pile. It is also very quiet. We could watch TV while it cleaned without feeling like we were bombarded with the sound.
Our test participants were extremely pleased by how simple the machine was to use and set up. They also loved the ability to clean all the messes that had accumulated on their floors. It did a good job cleaning pet hair, messes and carpeting however it was more difficult in removing stubborn stains. The app was simple to use and intuitive. It was able to set up the vacuum to clean regularly to reduce the amount of manual work. It doesn't feature the ability to avoid objects or map technology, so it can't be sent to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundaries work).
The V3S Pro is another model from the iRobot's budget line. It comes with several impressive features for an affordable price. It was the top robot vacuum we tested to avoid obstacles and map them. It's also a great budget choice for those who want an intelligent, self-emptying robotic vacuum that can handle pet messes and hair on hardwood floors and carpets here with a low pile. It's also quiet and has a huge dust bin that can hold plenty of debris before it needs to be emptied.
Although the V3S Pro didn't earn a place in any of our top picks compilations from reliable sources that conduct hands-on tests, it received high marks from reviewers from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews, and The Ambient. They appreciated the ease of set up and use, however they did note that the battery life was short and it didn't manage to avoid some of the most difficult problems we've encountered.

The Q Revo is a solid low-cost robot vacuum and mop that doesn't skimp on features or price. You'll get a lot of the features that you'll find on top models, such as smart navigation and mapping, without spending top dollar. You can also use voice commands through Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations, and then start your cleaning cycle from anywhere while you're away.
Roborock has taken its time to design this innovative cleaner. This is why the product is exceptionally sturdy and feels as if it was constructed from premium materials. Its base is solid and robust with an integrated charging port for the battery. On the top is the dock for the clean water tank and dirty water bins. You'll also find a wall under the dock that holds a sealed vacuum bag.
When you connect your device with the app, you'll be able to see an interactive map of your home. It will show where your robot is currently located and what area it's cleaning. You can also create virtual barriers to keep the robot out of certain areas, and make sure it's only cleaning certain kinds of floors. It is also able to adjust its power settings based on the type of floor being cleaned and choose the most efficient cleaning method.
Contrary to other robot vacuums like the Q Revo, it can lift both mop heads while vacuuming to prevent staining your carpet fibres. In fact, it's one of the few vacuums on market that can do this.
When mopping the Q Revo's 5500Pa suction power can be enough to take out specks of dust and pet hair strands and other debris. The all-rubber brush can be great at disentangling hair from animals and humans and adapting to uneven surfaces.
Its only downside is that it does take a while to fill and empty water tanks, both clean and dirty. Luckily, you can decrease the frequency of this by utilizing the auto-empty feature, which will automatically empty the container after a couple of days. You'll still need to check the level of water in the dock manually, however, since there's no way to set an automatic reminder.
