There's no need to spend time cleaning the same spots again if the battery runs out. You can also manually start and stop cleaning sessions with an easy voice command or via the iRobot app. The smart vacuum can even clean in the dark!
Another feature that is great is Carpet Boost, which gives the S9 additional suction power when it encounters carpeting so that it can take in even more dirt and debris. The unit is an elongated front design, which lets it get closer to corners and walls than the older round designs. Be aware that this model doesn't do well with shag or high-pile carpeting.
During our tests, we observed that the iRobot S9+ cleaned thoroughly and efficiently a range of floor surfaces, including hard and medium-pile carpets. It also did well on tiles, laminate floors, and vinyl flooring. It did a good job of navigating furniture and objects, but it did have some issues with stairs where it might accidentally hit bookcases.
The S9's capability to automatically return to its base and empty its dust bin once it is full was an excellent feature. It cut down on the need for manual maintenance. Its dust bag should last about 30 loads, or about one month or so, and you'll have to replace the filter once in a while (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very noisy when it operates, making it a good option for families with children or pets.
Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Robot vacuum cleaners are designed to do the chores for you, and can be used to clean hardwood and carpeted flooring. The best ones can be controlled and monitored using apps for smartphones, and some even have mopping tech for kitchen and bathroom floors. They are a great option for busy families, and they are becoming more affordable. If you want top-of-the-line features on your robotic cleaner, you'll need to pay a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is a fantastic choice for people who live in a multi-floored home. Dual motors provide it with an impressive cleaning capacity and the 0.6l dust bin can hold a lot of pet hair. The dust bin is easy to remove and emptied, which is great because you'll be required to do this frequently.

The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has a few issues with bare flooring. It can miss pet fur and small objects and can cause bumps to objects, such as its charger on the charging platform. It is also not as quiet, and the whirring sound can be distracting as with other models.
Roborock V3S pro
This robot isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we tested however, it does have all the basics. It has a huge enough dust bin to hold a lot of dirt before it needs emptying, and its mop and vacuum system works great on both hard floors and low-pile carpets. It's also extremely quiet. We could watch TV while it cleaned without feeling as though we were being bombarded with noise.
Our test participants were extremely pleased by how easy the machine was to use and set up. They also loved its ability to eliminate all the messes that had accumulated on their floors. It even did a pretty good job of picking up pet hair and other messes that get on carpeting, but it was not as effective in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The app was simple to use and easy to understand. They could schedule the vacuum to clean regularly to reduce the amount of manual work. It doesn't include object avoidance or mapping technology, so it isn't able to be used to send specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundaries work).
Another model from iRobot's affordable line that is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the money. It was the top robot vacuum we tested for navigating and avoiding obstacles. It's also the best budget choice for those looking for a smarter, self-emptying robotic vacuum that is able to handle hair and pet messes on hardwood floors and carpets with low pile. It's also extremely quiet and has a huge dust bin that can hold plenty of debris before it needs to be emptied.
The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choice lists from trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was easy to use and set up, however the battery life was not long.

You'll still have to check the water levels on the dock manually though, as there isn't an automatic reminder.
